Stray Kids was ready to participate in the “Governors Ball Music Festival” in New York as a full group. However, Seungmin will be unable to perform in the event after being diagnosed with a left ankle stress fracture.

On May 21 KST, JYP Entertainment, Stray Kids’ music agency, took over social media channels to release a short but substantial statement regarding Seungmin. The idol will not be joining the group for the festival scheduled for June 7 in the United States, so the show must go on as a seven-member group.

The music agency explained that Seungmin first experienced pain in his left ankle in March and sought medical attention. It turned out to be a stress fracture that has been undergoing continuous treatment and monitoring since then. The idol is also avoiding strenuous physical activity in daily life and is minimizing long-distance travel, including extended flights, in order to prioritize rest and rehabilitation.

“We sincerely apologize to fans who were looking forward to his performance.”
