Reports of communication between the brothers are disputed
Prince Harry and Prince William are still not on speaking terms despite recent reports suggesting their sibling bond might have been reconnected. During Harry’s visit to the United Kingdom earlier this month, sources from the Daily Mail claimed the brothers had been communicating and that William’s joining Harry and Meghan for their recent meeting with King Charles would have been a great sign.
“Friends of Harry say the brothers ‘do communicate’ and say: ‘It would have been the most amazing signal to everybody if William had managed to be at Highgrove.’”
However, new information indicates those reports are not accurate. Sources from HELLO! say Prince Harry and Prince William are still not on speaking terms, which goes to prove why the Prince of Wales did not join the Sussexes in their recent Britain reunion this month.
The relationship has remained difficult for years
The relationship between the two brothers has been strained since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exited the British monarchy in 2020. Tensions between the royal family increased after the couple revealed family matters in public interviews and after the Duke of Sussex released his memoir Spare. The brothers were last seen together publicly at King Charles’ coronation in May 2023. They also attended the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, in August 2024. However, it was affirmed that they did not speak or spend time together during that gathering.
Harry’s meeting with King Charles offered some optimism
Although Harry did not reconnect with Prince William, he did spend time with King Charles during the visit. In addition, the Duke’s children, Prince Lilibet (5) and Prince Archie (7), met their grandfather in person for the first time since 2022, when they traveled to the United Kingdom for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
