Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are coming back to the United Kingdom after living in the United States for approximately 6 years, and Madame Tussauds London quickly reacted to the news! On August 19, 2026, BBC News and PEOPLE revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are relocating to Britain before the end of this month. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will also attend a private school in the country starting in September. It was also reported that the Sussex family will stay at a non-royal residence and that there are no plans for them to resume their royal duties.
Shortly after the news became public, Madame Tussauds London shared a social media post featuring its two wax figures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“Did someone say they’re coming home?” the wax museum said in its post. “To mark the surprise news of Prince Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK, we’ve given the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a very British welcome at Madame Tussauds London.”
“Suitcases at the ready, they’ve taken their place among some of Britain’s biggest icons, and even stopped for a photo with a Royal Guard along the way!” the caption said as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s figures posed with suitcases. “Come and see them for yourself before the Sussexes arrive on UK shores later this month”
Madame Tussauds has used the couple’s figures to respond to previous events before. In 2020, it reacted to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step back from the British royal family 5 years ago. At that time, the wax museum shared an image showing an empty space beside the figures of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. It jokingly said, “we’ve got to respect their wishes #Megxit.”
