The MTV VMAs just dropped their newest round of nominations, and the K-pop presence is strong. On August 29, 2025, the music network revealed that groups like BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, aespa, SEVENTEEN, and KATSEYE are all up for Best Group at the 2025 show. They’ll be competing alongside important names like Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Imagine Dragons, and more prestigious acts.

In addition, the Song of the Summer category is heavily carried by K-pop and K-pop-adjacent acts. The most noticeable nominee is “Golden,” from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, performed by fictional girl group HUNTR/X and voiced by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. But here’s the catch: fan voting for Best Group will run from September 2 to September 6 on MTV’s Instagram Story. Similarly, voting for Song of the Summer will run from September 6 to September 7.
