KATSEYE’s Lara has responded to ongoing rumors about the future of members Manon and Sophia in the group. The girl group, currently performing for fans on the Wildworld Tour in Europe, sat down for an interview with Swedish program Lilla Aktuellt. The four active members Lara, Daniela, Megan and Yoonchae were asked directly about speculation that the two members may not return to the group.
“A lot of the rumors are about Sophia and Manon and if they will ever come back… What do you have to say to people seeing these rumors? Are they true?” Lilla Aktuellt asked.
Lara quickly responded, saying the rumors were not true and suggested that people were creating a negative narrative around the situation. Her comments sparked reactions from fans, particularly because Manon has been on hiatus since February 2026, with HYBE x Geffen previously citing her personal health and well-being as the reasons for her break. Similarly, Sophia later stepped away from The WildWorld Tour in August to focus on her mental health.
In a recent interview, Lara confirmed that the many rumors (even ones claiming Manon and Sophia will never return to KATSEYE) are completely untrue. She also clarified that the conflicts people continue to associate with them have been made up and are not based on reality…

“I can say none of those rumors are true for sure. I think people want to create a negative narrative so badly… But at the end of the day, we don’t feed into it, because it’s just not true.”
The two hiatuses have led to considerable online theories about when or whether both members will return to the girl group at some point. Lara’s statement hints at the possibility that their return is possible. However, she did not mention a specific timeline or additional details about either member’s current status.
