On May 17th Prince Harry and Meghan Markle denounced have been involved in a car chase that almost ended with a tragedy, when a paparazzi was following them behind to take new photos of the former members of the British royalty.

As reported by Prince Harry’s spokerman in a recent statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in addition to the mother of the former actress, Dorian Ragland, were involved in an “almost catastrophic car chase in New York“, he revealed, and asking that this situation not be repeated.

The same spokerman said the couple and the mother of Meghan were relentlessly pursued by photographers for more than two hours, making them to get worried about their safety and fatal accident that situation could caused.

Just before the car chase, the three attended to the the Women of Vision Awards ceremony, where Markle received an award for female leadership. After the ceremony concluded, the photographers started to followed them to get more photos of the couple.

In several testimonies, people affirmed that during the car chase a photographer hit the car, while another almost crashed a New York police officer. In the middle of the situation Harry was photographed using his phone to record the paparazzi in the terrifying situation.

The chase started with 12 paparazzi and ended with four“, a source shared to the New York Post.

Their security did everything they could to lose the photographers

Two officers “assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes“, said Julian Philips of the New York Police Department.

There were numerous photographers that made it difficult to transport. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination and there were no reported collisions, citations, injuries or arrests in this regard“, he added.
