Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from the royal family on January 8, 2020, and settled in California in March 2020. Their relationship with the Royal Family became strained in the subsequent years, following speculation and the release of Harry’s bombshell memoir “Spare.” Despite controversies, the Sussex family visited King Charles and Queen Camilla in July 2026 at Highgrove. The private family meeting marked the first time the King had seen Archie and Lilibet in person in more than four years, as the four family members had not been together in the UK since 2022, when they attended Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
