On July 25, “DDU-DU DDU-DU” surpassed 2.4 billion views on YouTube. The music video became the first K-pop group music video ever to reach the milestone on the platform, showcasing their immense influence in the domestic and international markets.
BLACKPINK originally released “DDU-DU DDU-DU” on June 15, 2018, at 6 p.m. KST, meaning that it took the video just over eight years, one month, and nine days to hit the 2.4 billion mark. Now, the idols are seeking to become the most-watched K-pop music video, only behind PSY’s iconic 2012 hit “Gangnam Style.” However, the journey will take them a little bit longer, as PSY’s music video is seated at 6 billion views as of July 2026.
