In recent reports, BLACKPINK‘s Lisa breaks silence on her ‘N-Word‘ controversial videos from her trainee period, explaining to fans her situation back then.
On September 11th, the singer’s solo documentary titled ‘Always Lalisa’ premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, giving fans an intimate view about her career in the K-Pop industry and her time under YG Entertainment.
According to new posts on social networks, fans revealed that in the documentary Lisa addressed the recently leaked videos of her singing a racial slur while covering songs from when she was a young K-Pop trainee.

The BLACKPINK member explained these videos came from a time she was fresh out of Thailand and unaware of the racist implications of the term, as English wasn’t her first language. She said that in that moment she only learned the songs required for the trainee evaluation.
The singer continues revealing that after educating herself about its meaning, she will never say it again. She even revealed that after the issue, she wanted to release an official statement through LLOUD, but YG Entertainment opposed because any declaration would escalate the situation.
