BLACKPINK’s Jennie has become the victim of an AI deepfake in 2026. The “Mantra” hitmaker had footage of herself go viral, with it falsely showing a wardrobe malfunction. The fake video was completely manipulated using artificial intelligence, spreading quickly across social media and online communities, reportedly receiving 12.5 million views within half a day and creating a major wave of sensational reactions.
The incident has renewed concerns about the growing use of AI to create false and sexually explicit content involving women. The controversy comes as the BLACKPINK member achieves major milestones throughout 2026. This year, she has performed as a solo headliner at seven major international music festivals, including Governors Ball in New York, Lollapalooza, and Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan. She also released a 3-track digital EP titled “FALLEN ANGEL,” which showcases a more sentimental side of her music.
Away from the controversy, Jennie has also achieved strong results on the global music charts. Her collaboration with Tame Impala, “Dracula,” reportedly reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained in the Top 10 for 11 consecutive weeks.
