“Springing into summer,” Meghan Markle captioned the pictures.

The picture showed an unseen black and white photograph of Meghan and Harry together during the early days of their romance. The mother of two revealed that the picture was dated March 31, 2017, a period when the couple were still dating and keeping much of their relationship private. In the image, the duo is seen from behind while sitting closely together and looking into the distance.

The couple built their relationship away from the spotlight

Prince Harry previously revealed that he and Meghan first connected through a friend on Instagram before meeting in person in London in July 2016. Their relationship quickly escalated into a long-distance couple, living in different countries. News of their romance became public in October 2016, and Harry later released a statement defending his then-girlfriend from negative press and media backlash. The couple announced their engagement in November 2017 and married at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018. Since then, they have had two children and stepped back from the British monarchy in January 2020, moving to Montecito, California.

Family life remains at the center of their story

The June 9, 2026 post also included photos of Prince Harry playing with Prince Archie, Princess Lilibet wearing a Beyoncé-themed shirt, and family moments outdoors. Meghan has often spoken about wanting a sense of normal family life despite their unique family circumstances.

“Once you know us, I think you want us to have the same normalcy as parents and for our children as they do, despite however unique our situation is.”
