BTS’ hit song “Butter” has surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify, Big Hit Music announced on September 5, 2026. This makes “Butter,” one of the group’s fully sung-in-English songs, the third track to reach the milestone. “Butter” now joins previous hits like “Dynamite” and “My Universe,” their collaboration with Coldplay. “Butter” became one of BTS’ biggest global hits and continued to achieve major milestones years after its release, becoming one of their most well-known anthems.

The digital single peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became BTS’ fourth song to reach the summit of that chart. “Butter” then remained at the top position for 10 weeks, making it one of the boy group’s longest-running hits in the United States. The song also earned BTS a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2022. Similarly, its music video has also attracted massive viewership, surpassing 1.1 billion views on YouTube as of July 2026.
“Butter” has become an essential global hit for the 7-member group. In Japan, the song received a diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan in 2024 after reaching 500 million streams. Amid this buttery success, BTS is continuing their “ARIRANG” world tour and will wrap up the US leg with concerts in Los Angeles on September 5 and 6.
