This news follows strong sales results from the album’s pre-sale period. On January 15, 2026, it was reported that “Deadline” sold out in all available versions just minutes after pre-orders opened. The sold-out editions included the Black and Pink versions, as well as the Silver, Gray, and Mood Light editions. The fans, known as BLINKS, quickly shared the news across social media, showing anticipation for the girl group’s return after focusing on solo activities last year.

“Deadline” represents BLACKPINK’s first recording project since “Born Pink,” which was released in 2022. During 2024 and 2025, the members worked on individual projects, including solo music and personal business ventures. The group’s reunion began with the release of “Jump” on July 11, 2025. The mini-album shares its name with BLACKPINK’s world tour, which began on July 5 and July 6, 2025, in Goyang, South Korea, and is set to conclude in January 2026 in Hong Kong.
