In the heartfelt interview, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opened up about their experiences and motivations. The couple met with parents Donna and Chris Dawley, who tragically lost their teenage sons. Reflecting on her own struggles, the Duchess of Sussex shared an empathetic connection to these families, which Jane Pauley noted:
“You had an experience that connects you to these families – and I see you touch your husband’s hand in just the way I knew that you would be looking after each other.”
Meghan Markle responded with honesty, emphasizing the importance of openness in healing from trauma and confirming her similarities with the loss these families have suffered:
“When you’ve been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey is being able to be really open about it.”
The Parents Network is now available in the US, UK, and Canada. Its objective is to support parents dealing with the harm and trauma of social media, giving resources to families, parents, or guardians facing mental health challenges or grieving a loss derived from social media situations.
