BTS continues to make history on the Billboard charts with their latest single, “Swim.” The hit has now spent eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, which matches the previous record set by their 2020 smash “Dynamite.” “Swim” first debuted at #1 in April 2026, shortly after the release of the “ARIRANG” album on March 20, 2026. Following the song’s initial release, it has continued to have strong support from global listeners ever since.
According to Luminate, “Swim” recorded 41.8 million streams outside the United States during the tracking week of May 22 to May 28, 2026. The song also sold 2,000 copies during the same period. Despite an 8% drop in streaming numbers, sales increased by 8%, which helped the track remain at the top of the chart. BTS now holds eight #1 songs on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, giving the group twice as many chart leaders as their closest competitors: Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK, and Taylor Swift each have four #1 hits under their belts.
The group’s chart history includes several massive global hits. “Swim” and “Dynamite” share the record with eight weeks at #1, followed by “Butter” with five weeks in 2021. Other chart toppers include “Take Two,” “Yet To Come,” “My Universe” with Coldplay, “Permission To Dance,” and “Life Goes On.”
