BLACKPINK’s Rosé changed the entire Kpop industry after releasing her single “APT” with Bruno Mars. The song became one of her biggest hits not only in South Korea but worldwide. Ultimately, it’s not a surprise that the song will be reigning in major charts, including YouTube views.

On July 31 KST, the “APT” music video surpassed 2.6 billion views on YouTube. The song was originally released on October 18, 2024 KST, meaning it took just over one year, nine months, and 12 days to achieve the feat. But what makes it so special?

Rosé’s “APT” has become the fastest music video by an Asian artist to surpass 2.6 billion views. In addition, it has also set a new record for the fastest music video led by a female artist to reach the milestone.

Across all artists and genres, “APT” is currently sitting at the fifth fastest music video to hit the 2.6 billion mark on YouTube, bested only by Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” (featuring Daddy Yankee), Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” and Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” (featuring Cardi B). Congratulations to Rosé!
