Production moves from Ireland to France
Wednesday is taking the upcoming Season 3 beyond Nevermore Academy and into Paris! The show, which has mainly filmed in Ireland, started a short shoot in the French capital on April 18, 2026. Reports from France and set photos have suggested that production worked in central Paris and planned to finish the location shooting on April 20, 2026. This brief filming period gives the new season a bigger international feel and hints at a storyline that might move from its usual setting.

Jenna Ortega and Fred Armisen return on set
Recently released behind-the-scenes photos show Jenna Ortega wearing Wednesday Addams’ well-known black and somber costume. In addition, Fred Armisen was also seen filming, which seemingly confirms that Uncle Fester is set to appear in this Paris story segment. Tim Burton returns as a director, spotted working with the actors near the River Seine. At that moment, the team appeared to be filming a dark and tense scene on the riverside streets. The set also included the motorcycle with its sidecar, which added to the visual style of the sequence.

Season 3 builds a larger cast and a longer road to release
The freshly revealed Paris shoot is only one part of a much larger season. Reportedly, the cast will have some major additions, including Winona Ryder, as per What’s On Netflix. Meanwhile, Noah B. Taylor has left the series. In addition, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance are set to appear in important roles that have not yet been announced.
With production moving through Europe and a season that seems larger in scale, post-production may take longer than usual. Netflix has not revealed an official premiere date for Wednesday Season 3, but the current expectation points to a return around mid-2027 for the spooky series.
