The La Plata City Council has officially named BTS as Guests of Honor ahead of the group’s upcoming concerts in Argentina this October. The resolution was unanimously approved after being proposed by the local BTS fan organization BTS La Plata Oficial. In Argentina, the title of Guest of Honor is a special recognition given to international visitors who have made important contributions to culture, science or society.

La Plata officials said BTS’s influence goes beyond music and pointed to the positive effect the group has had on young people interested in the Korean language and culture. Documents presented to the council also highlighted the charitable work carried out by local BTS fans, known as ARMY, who have been inspired by the messages in the group’s music. The recognition celebrates both BTS’s artistic success and the strong community that has grown around its work.
The announcement comes before the seven-member group performs three concerts at Estadio Único de La Plata on October 21, 2026, October 23, 2026, and October 24, 2026. Originally, only two shows were confirmed, but organizers added a third date after tickets sold quickly because of overwhelming demand. These concerts will mark BTS’s first full group performances in Argentina and its first South American shows since launching the ARIRANG world tour in April 2026.
