BTS is ready to make a huge splash in the upcoming 2026 MTV VMAs with their latest musical release, “ARIRANG.” Right now, the idols are the talk of the town after their controversial post about not submitting their music to next year’s GRAMMY Awards.

On August 18 KST, the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards shocked the K-Netizens by nominating BTS’ title track, “SWIM,” for “Song of the Year.” In addition, “SWIM” is not the only Kpop nominated song, as HUNTR/X’s “GOLDEN” is also competing for the title in the upcoming ceremony.

This year’s “Song of the Year” category features seven nominees, with the winner to be selected through online fan voting. Last year, Bruno Mars and BLACKPINK’s “APT” were able to snatch the crown and become the first song by a kpop artist to win the category. Do you think BTS will be able to continue the Kpop legacy with their iconic title track, “SWIM”?
