Jungkook of BTS has reached 7 billion Spotify streams with his debut solo album, “Golden,” Big Hit Music announced on Thursday, May 7, 2026. This achievement makes the album the first solo project by an Asian artist to hit 7 billion plays on the streaming platform. According to the agency, “Golden” reached the mark in 904 days, setting a new speed record for a studio album by an Asian act. The project has continued to perform strongly 3 years after its initial release, thanks to hits like “Seven” and “Standing Next To You.”

The album was already a major success when it arrived three years ago. “Golden” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 25 weeks. It also sold more than 2 million copies in its first week globally, showing Jungkook’s strong global reach as a solo artist. The 11-song album was later included by Talk of the Charts among the “Top 20 Albums With the Most Powerful Hit Songs of the 2020s.” The project helped Jungkook build a clear solo identity while keeping the global fan base that stayed by his side as BTS member.

The milestone comes as another important chapter to Jungkook’s solo career while BTS remains active as a group. The boy band began touring North America in late April 2026 and is scheduled to perform three concerts in Mexico City from Thursday, May 7, 2026, to Sunday, May 10, 2026. Their stadium performances in the country are expected to bring a major economic boost to the region, with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum welcoming the group’s members at Palacio Nacional.
