Rolling Stone placed Jin at the center of one of its May 2026 special BTS issues on April 15, 2026. The magazine spotlighted both his individual image and his connection to BTS through the photos and the interview. In the pictures, the magazine presents Jin as one of the featured faces in a larger project, coming as the second member to have his individual Rolling Stone moment, following RM, who also opened up for the magazine about his role as a leader and the boy band’s previous releases, such as “Dynamite” and “Butter.”
The issue shared on April 15, 2026, introduces him as the latest solo May 2026 cover star, opening up about his role as the oldest member of BTS, his love of rock music, and other personal interests. In addition, the article focuses on Jin’s attitude toward his career and his clear commitment to BTS. During the conversation with the magazine, Jin reveals that he would not continue a career without the group. Then, he shares that BTS continues to be his main priority, explaining that a solo career is not the most important to him.
“I’ve always thought there’s no reason to continue if it’s not with the group. I guess a solo career is just not that important to me. If I did anything, it would be trying something different within the group when the fans are bored. I’m not interested in acting or anything like that.”
Rolling Stone also used the release to promote a broader BTS cover project. According to the magazine’s social media posts, the May 2026 issue includes eight different covers, with one featuring BTS as a group and one individual cover for each member. The magazine describes the collection as including eight interviews, eight covers, and exclusive photography.
