The most controversial movie of the last few weeks has been released and many people have already expressed their opinion about it, since it is about animatronic characters that have a great thirst for blood.

Five Nights at Freddy’s, based on a video game of the same name has recently premiered and the internet has been filled with memes, videos and many comments from people who enjoyed the game and have now seen the big screen, dividing opinions completely, since apparently, the critics did not like it at all.

The movie is already accumulating different ratings on review sites, where comments are seen indicating that the movie was not to their liking.

On the Rotten Tomatoes site alone, the critics are completely divided between critics and audience, as the specialists gave it a 25% approval rating, while the audience that saw the movie gave it an impressive 89%, indicating that they liked it.

Just a few of the critics’ comments:

…a disappointingly dull movie. Set largely in an abandoned pizza parlor, it’s not scary, doesn’t make much sense and is about as much fun as a frozen Hawaiian pizza (…) While there will be plenty of easter eggs for fans of the game to enjoy, there’s no sense of narrative adventure.

Needless to say, we’re a far cry from the enjoyment value of Blumhouse’s M3GAN, which used the same toned-down gore to get a PG-13 rating in the U.S., but at least it bounced back with wit and common sense. These specimens, courtesy of the Jim Henson Company, are nothing more than effigies of menacing animals that move about. Promisingly malevolent but with little to do inside, they feel like what they are: Internet memes promoted to exhaustion.

Undoubtedly, the specialized critics did not like the proposal that the new movie is giving us, as the comments of disgust continue to grow, despite the fact that the director has said that the film is rated PG-13.

What do you think about the movie? Did you like it? Do you agree with the critics?
