After it was announced that in March 2022, Amazon had bought the rights from the production company Metro Goldwyn Mayer for almost 8.5 billion dollars.

According to several U.S. media, Wednesday will move platform to continue its success, in a second season, to Prime Video, due to the purchase of MGM, although some experts from Deadline and Variety ensure that the series will continue on Netflix. This would generate millions of dollars in losses for the highly recognized production company.

NetflixOne of the main questions for many is why Wednesday was produced on Netflix, if since March 2022 Amazon already owned the rights to the Addams; the answer lies in the date on which Tim Burton and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar signed the project, something that happened in 2020, although it was not until February 2021 when the series began to be filmed.

While there has so far been no official word of a second season of Merlina on Netflix, neither has it been made public that it will be moving to Prime Video, although everything would point to MGM continuing to make content indiscriminately on other platforms, according to a Variety source.

Netflix

No matter the house, the important thing is that the series continues with more seasons, say fans of the series.
