Recently, BTS fans, known as ARMY, denounced that the title of the most listened K-Pop soloist on the streaming platform Spotify was “sold out,” as they believe it should have gone to Jungkook and not BLACKPINK’s rapper Lisa. In fact, on Twitter they use the hashtag #SpotifyCorrupt to show their disagreement with the app’s titles.

Through Twiiter, followers of the boyband took to the task of claiming the application for not recognizing the success of BTS and its members. In addition, they accuse Spotify of corruption, as they claim that Lisa was not the most listened soloist of 2022. “Imagine having more than twice as many listeners but still giving the title as the most streamed K-Pop solo artist of the year to the other one. Shame on you for winning dirty titles,” wrote one ARMY.

In turn, ARMY made a campaign to rate the app as bad and give it only one star, as they hope that this way they will recognize the streams that Jeong Jungkook had. “Go rate the app with one star. We can’t allow them to keep doing this kind of thing. Take this as an incentive to hit the stream harder,” added a fan.

.

According to ARMY, the app does not count the streams of BTS and its members as it should, because if it did, the winner would have been Jungkook. In fact, they have shared an image where “Golden Maknae’s” total streams are supposedly shown against those of the Thai rapper. “We all know that the real artist with the most streams is Jungkook,” one fan claimed.

They further claim that, if not counting streams from collaborations with other artists, the winner would be J-Hope, also a member of the boyband. “If Spotify prefers to give himself away, at least we will make it clear that we are not blind and we know what he did,” another fan of the boyband pointed out on social media.

Some time later, the streaming platform retracted and stated that it was actually a mistake, since the title DOES belong to Jungkook and not to Lisa from BLACKPINK.
