Soccer Player Iker Casillas comes out and then says is fake

Recently, former Real Madrid player Iker Casillas became a trend on social networks when he revealed that he was gay through his Twitter account, asking the public to respect his true orientation.

“I hope they respect me; I’m gay #felizdomingo,” wrote the athlete in his publication, which had more than 186 thousand ‘likes’ and hundreds of comments before being deleted

Even Carles Puyol, also a former player of the Spaniard, joined the wave of reactions and jokingly wrote: “It’s time to tell our story, Iker,” next to a heart and a face throwing a kiss.

However, shortly after the surprising tweet came to light, indicated that his message had been the work of someone who had hacked his Twitter account, thus denying his alleged preference for men.

“Account hacked. Luckily everything is in order. Apologies to all my followers. And of course, more apologies to the LGBT community,” wrote the athlete a couple of hours after the controversial publication went viral. ()

After the clarifying message, netizens had all kinds of reactions, although the vast majority indicated that they did not believe the ex-player’s new words and asked him to be more “honest” with his orientation.

“I can’t understand that you recover so easily a hacked account when in many occasions it is literally impossible”, “Nobody believes you”, “How quickly you have solved the hacking, right?”, “Why do you ask for forgiveness if you didn’t put it?”, “Recognize what you are”, are some of the comments that could be read.

Carles Puyol came out to publicly apologize after the comment he made to what was written in the account of his former teammate, clarifying that his intention was never to mock the LGBT+ community:

“I made a mistake. Sorry for a clumsy joke without any bad intention and absolutely out of place. I understand that it may have hurt sensitivities. All my respect and support to the LGTBIQA+ community,” Puyol expressed on his Twitter account.
