Shane and Ilya are heading to the big screen. Heated Rivalry, the hockey romance that took over social media, is getting a limited theatrical run this November, and fans can finally watch it together.

According to Variety, Regal will show all six episodes in more than 650 U.S. theaters from Nov. 6 to 30. The series first aired on HBO Max, premiering with two episodes on Nov. 28, 2025, with the finale on Dec. 26. Almost a year later, it’s making the jump from your couch to the cinema.

How it works. The episodes will be shown in order, two at a time, in three screenings:

Episodes 1 and 2: “Rookies” and “Olympians”
Episodes 3 and 4: “Hunter” and “Rose”
Episodes 5 and 6: “I’ll Believe in Anything” and “The Cottage”

Screenings will open with welcome messages from the cast and director. Participating theaters will also serve two limited-time cocktails inspired by the show: Summer in Montreal and Russians Don’t Blush.

Brooks LeBoeuf, Regal’s senior vice president of U.S. content, said the goal is to give fans a reason to experience a hit series together. He called the run a chance to celebrate the story, its creators and its performances before Season 2 arrives in 2027. The run is led by Regal with Sphere Abacus, which distributes the series internationally. Sphere Abacus’s Hana Palmer said the company hopes to bring the show to big screens in North America, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.

Based on Rachel Reid’s bestselling Game Changers novels, Heated Rivalry follows rival hockey players Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), who secretly fall in love. Jacob Tierney wrote and directed it, and the cast also includes François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Sophie Nélisse and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova. The show became a global hit and made Williams and Storrie two of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors.

The fandom has already taken over real life, too. In January, fans held a Heated Rivalry lookalike contest in New York’s Washington Square Park. Season 2 is in production, so the theatrical run is the best way to relive the story while you wait.
