Bang Chan of Stray Kids celebrated his 29th birthday on Saturday in the best way: by donating a combined 300 million won (about $223,000) to three organizations, JYP Entertainment announced. That brings his total giving this year to 500 million won.
Where the Money Is Going
Bang Chan gave 100 million won each to Hearcycle, World Vision and the marine environmental group Our Sea of East Asia Network (Osean). World Vision’s share will support its Dreaming Children program, which offers scholarships and tailored growth support to children and teens from low-income and vulnerable households.

Hearcycle‘s donation will go toward medical expenses and social reintegration programs for young people with hearing loss, while Osean’s will fund coastal and river cleanups and marine debris collection.
In a press release, the Stray Kids member said it was meaningful to share even a small amount of support in areas that need a helping hand, “from children’s dreams to the communities we live in.”
A Giving Streak
Earlier this year, in September, the Australian singer donated 100 million won to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital for specialized rehabilitation centers, plus another 100 million won to UNICEF Korea for recovery efforts after major flooding in Nepal.
He has also made birthday donations before: 200 million won combined to Samsung Medical Center and UNICEF Korea in 2025, and 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea in 2024, which made him a member of its Honor Society.
With his Stray Kids bandmates, he also contributed in 2025 to wildfire recovery in North and South Gyeongsang provinces and to relief after a fire in Hong Kong.
