In recent reports, HYBE speaks out on BTS‘ boycott at the 2027 Grammys, protesting against the recording academy’s new regional music category.
Hours after the boy group member announced through their individual Instagram accounts their decision to not submit their successful comeback album ‘ARIRANG‘ for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, their agency revealed their position.
On July 29th, HYBE and BTS made a statement recognising the impressive welcome their new album received in the United States and the whole world and pointed out how their new category, ‘Best Asian Pop Music Performance’, would be an obstacle to dominating the main categories.

“We find it difficult to accept that this change in the Grammys’ judging was made at a time when BTS was considered to have the highest chance of winning the main award.”
However, they also added that “This is not a boycott at the company level,” as this is a personal decision of the BTS members, so they will support “If other artists from the same affiliation wish to participate, they will proceed as scheduled.”
