BTS’ comeback is currently one of the biggest phenomena in the music industry in the last couple of months due to the idols’ popularity not only in the South Korean market but in the international one. When the idols are about to reach the peak of success in almost every country, they have unveiled shocking news related to the Grammy Awards.

On July 29, BTS released a short statement on their personal social media accounts explaining the reasoning behind their decision not to submit their latest musical project for consideration at the 69th Grammy Awards, set to take place in February 2027.

“We hope music can be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language.”

The announcement comes after the Recording Academy changed the game for K-pop acts and introduced a new “Best Asian Pop Music Performance” category for the upcoming ceremony. BTS have previously received five Grammy nominations, including three consecutive nods for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.”
