The additional security layer comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spend time in Europe before their rumored visit to the United Kingdom in July 2026. The family is expected to attend events connected to the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. However, the visit remains uncertain as discussions about the family’s security arrangements in the country are still ongoing. Prince Harry has repeatedly expressed concerns about bringing his wife and children to Britain without what he considers appropriate protection and security throughout the trip.

Security remains Prince Harry’s main concern

During previous legal proceedings involving the Home Office and the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, the Duke of Sussex explained that the United Kingdom is an important part of his children’s heritage and that he hopes they can reconnect with their country. Following court decisions regarding his security arrangements, he said that he “can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.” On June 26, 2026, it was reported that the family planned to stay at a combination of private homes and royal residences if the Sussexes chose to visit Britain. Despite the available accommodations, security concerns still shape the future of their travels.
