Red Velvet is officially preparing for a new comeback era as the quintet plans a full comeback in August 2026. According to industry reports, the members are currently working on a new album that will mark their first full-group release since the mini-album Cosmic, which was released in June 2024. That EP celebrated the group’s 10th anniversary and became a career highlight for all the members. Now, two years later, fans are ready to see what the five members are planning for their next era.

This comeback is attracting special attention because it will be the girl group’s first activity since Wendy and Yeri left SM Entertainment to pursue individual careers. Despite their exit, both artists signed with different agencies, and they have continued to participate in Red Velvet activities. Their return alongside Irene, Seulgi, and Joy highlights the strong bond that has kept the group together despite changes.

Over the past two years, each Red Velvet member has focused on individual projects. Joy released her solo mini-album From Joy, With Love, while Wendy continued her solo music career with Cerulean Verge. Yeri expanded her acting work, and Irene released her first full-length solo album, Biggest Fan. Meanwhile, Seulgi released another project titled “Accidentally On Purpose.” Despite their busy schedules, the members have frequently supported one another at concerts, broadcasts, and public events, and now seem to be ready to return as a quintet.
