During a recent public appearance, King Charles III revealed he has given up one of his greatest sporting passions as he approaches 80 years old due to the fact that these extreme activities can be dangerous.

According to Hello! magazine, the monarch attended a royal engagement at Teesside last February where he met a royal supporter to whom he revealed that “I think my skiing days are before me,” updating him on his passion for the sport.

Previously, King Charles III had proclaimed himself a skiing enthusiast who started at age 14. It became a passion that led him to frequently visit the Swiss resort of Klosters. Although it is not the only sport he enjoys, in 2024 he revealed, “I can’t do much now. Too many injuries.”

Despite the king’s great love for this sport, his wife, Queen Camilla, is not a big fan of it, her son Tom Parker Bowles revealed, “My mother hated skiing, so she’d send us up the mountain with a guide while she sat and read her book. She’d come up in the ski lift to meet us for lunch.”
