SEVENTEEN members Vernon and The8 are gearing up for their debut as a sub-unit. On March 12, 2026, a source from PLEDIS Entertainment said that the two KPop idols were working as a sub-unit to release a project in June 2026. The announcement quickly drew attention from SEVENTEEN fans (known as Carats) who are eager to see a new duo combination within the group.

This release will become SEVENTEEN’s sixth sub-unit. It follows in the footsteps of previous duos in the group, such as BSS, Jeonghan X Wonwoo, HxW, CxM, and DxS. Vernon is widely known as one of SEVENTEEN’s rappers and songwriters, while The8 has built a reputation as one of the group’s strongest performers.

Usually, a sub-unit release gives both members a chance to show another side of their artistry while still staying connected to SEVENTEEN’s group identity as a whole. The timing is also notable because SEVENTEEN is currently embarked on their NEW_ world tour. The boy band will be visiting Thailand on March 14 and 15. Then, they will perform in the Philippines on March 21 and are set to conclude their run in South Korea on April 4 and 5.
