Sony Animation released GOAT in theaters on February 13, 2026, marking the studio’s first animated sports film of 2026. The movie features the voices of Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, David Harbour, Aaron Pierre, and NBA star Stephen Curry, who is also credited as a producer. After its theatrical debut, the film quickly gained traction and popularity, grossing more than $50 million worldwide. For now, GOAT is only available in cinemas, but the public is already waiting for its streaming release.

GOAT is expected to stream on Netflix due to the long-standing agreement between Sony Pictures and Netflix. Since 2022, Netflix has been the first streaming home for Sony films after their run at theaters and home entertainment windows close. This deal includes projects from Sony Animation, which is part of Sony Pictures. As a result, many Sony Animation movies have premiered or later streamed exclusively on Netflix in recent years.

Although no official date has been announced, past release patterns can be seen to get an estimate for GOAT’s streaming release. For example, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse arrived on Netflix 151 days after its theatrical debut. However, most Sony films have reached streaming in about 102 to 120 days. Based on these estimations, GOAT could premiere on Netflix in late May or mid June 2026.
