Through his memoir book, Prince Harry shocked supporters by recalling he wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate his Las Vegas trip in 2012, but his friends stopped him from doing it.
In his 2023 book ‘Spare,’ the younger son of King Charles III said that during his trip with friends to Sin City, he “was in rough shape and filling up with…ideas” until he decided he needed to do something to commemorate the fun travel.
“Something to symbolize my sense of freedom, my sense of carpe diem. For instance…a tattoo? Yes! Just the thing!” said Prince Harry and continued saying that his foot would be the perfect spot to get Botswana tattooed, which he has called his “second home.”

When he finally told a friend about his plan, they said, “He smiled. No way. My mates backed him up. Absolutely not. In fact, they promised to physically stop me. I was not going to get a tattoo, they said, not on their watch, least of all a foot tattoo of Botswana.”
He also said that “They promised to hold me down, knock me out, whatever it took. A tattoo is permanent; it’s forever!” So he had to give up on his plans but continue the trip with much partying, drinks, and a game of strip pool that went through global scrutiny.
