It is estimated that the year 2024 will be a success when it comes to kpop and more and more people are infected by everything they have to share with us, since the music, lyrics and choreography they practice are unmatched, to the extent that they have already become a benchmark, as has been the successful girl band Blackpink, which has conquered the world and especially the US charts, so that every time a new project is announced, the fandom can not hide their great excitement. But, just as there is a lot of excitement, there is also fear and we must remember that the band Blackpink is part of a company, a label that carries them and recently has shared the news that the terms for the celebrities has changed, leaving uncertain the future of the girls at least with them.
BLACKPINK’s future for 2024 after not renewing their contracts with YG Entertainment
The members of Blackpink, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa, have declined to extend their individual contracts with their longstanding label/agency YG Entertainment, giving them the freedom to pursue their solo careers as they wish.
“Blackpink recently renewed their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities,” the new statement read (via Soompi). “We will do our utmost to support Blackpink’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts.”
Jennie added, “I’m also excited about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course BLACKPINK. Thank you.”
