Hugh Jackman has disclosed that he underwent two tests as a precaution against basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer that has plagued him for years.
Since 2013, the actor has undergone a number of surgical procedures to remove exactly these transparent lumps that develop in the body parts that are most frequently exposed to the sun.
He says in a video on Instagram that he recently visited the doctor, who found two small spots that “may or may not” be basal cells, which is why he took the tests. He is seen in the video with a small dressing on his nose.
“I’ll know in two or three days, and I’ll let you know,” declares Hugh Jackman, who is getting ready to reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3 film. Wolverine is a member of the X-Men film series.
The actor claims that this carcinoma is “the least dangerous skin cancer in the world.” In addition, he made a point of urging everyone who saw him to wear sunscreen because this illness is brought on by prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays.
According to Skin Check Champions, two out of every three people in Australia have skin cancer, making it the nation with the highest incidence of the disease worldwide.
