On Tuesday morning, the King Charles unveiled a new portrait of himself at a small and intimate gathering in the Buckingham Palace. The video of the king unveiling the portrait, as well as the portrait itself, have been a trending topic on social media ever since due to some rather controversial and unusual aspects of the painting that apparently didn’t seem to bother King Charles’ wife, Queen Camilla, who is said to have approved the painting on sight.
The portrait has been highly discussed in social media for its representation of King Charles, who appears in a fully red military suit merged with a red background that has been pointed out to have an evil aura to it. His eyes, naturally blue, have been painted black and his facial expressions show distress. Here’s a photo of the portrait for you to analyze.
On an article released by the British newsletter BBC, it is mentioned that the Queen Camilla saw the painting at the unveiling and told Jonathan Yeo, the painter, “Yes, you’ve got him.”
Queen Camilla’s opinion is not so popular online, where most of the followers of the British crown are questioning the color palette of the painting, and the apparent devilish representation of King Charles.
