The King Charles is once again making tabloids due to a new portrait of himself that was presented on an unveiling ceremony on Tuesday morning at his residency in the Buckingham Palace. The painting was in charge of Jonathan Yeo, a renowned painter who decided to portray the King Charles in an unflattering light that got him a load of harsh comments online. The controversy reached its peak when the representation of the king in the painting was compared to the devil of the Christianism.
On his newly unveiled painting, the King Charles is shown in his uniform from when he was made Regimental Colonel in the Welsh Guards in 1975, but this time, tainted with a bright red that also camouflages with the red background. His face, however, is prominently shown in the picture with a distressed look, and dark black eyes instead of his natural warm blue.
The appearance of the king Charles has not only been mocked on social media, but some went as far as to compare him with a demonic entity due to the vivid red colors of the portrait, along with the black eyes and the distressed look, which are characteristic associated with other representations of the devil described in the catholic bible. Here’s an edited picture of the painting posted by an internet user, for example.

Other users twisted the picture in different positions and claim that they can identify demonic images hidden in the portrait.
Obsrven al derecho o al revés. Cuadro oficial de Carlos III. Observen las figuras que se forman en el centro. Observen a quien le da la mano. Más satánico, no se consigue… pic.twitter.com/T1rw3UxOC3

When asked about the painting style and the color palette chosen for the piece of artwork, Jonathan Yeo explains that he wanted to separate King Charles from his past, to paint him in a totally different and new way.
What do you think about the portrait? Do you also think he look like the devil?
