On June 13th, Queen Camilla attended the Trooping the Colour wearing the outfit she wore in the same event 3 years ago for a meaningful reason about her recent achievements with the British army.

During the fourth Trooping the Colour of King Charles III‘s reign, the royal drew attention by appearing in a horse-drawn carriage as it travelled through London, wearing a familiar outfit: a Grenadier Guards uniform dress.

The outfit looked familiar because she wore this exact coat dress to her first Trooping the Colour as queen in 2023. Inspired by the regiment’s military tunics, the dress honoured her recent appointment as a ceremonial colonel.

The queen had a meaningful reason for re-wearing the outfit; it was an important year for her, and the Grenadier Guards were the regiment trooping their colour, an honour that rotates through the Household Division each year.

This way, Camilla paid homage to the Grenadier Guards with the same red silk coat dress and a single modification compared to her 2023 look: she changed her black hat with a black feather for a similar one with a white feather, a nod to the Grenadier Guards’ bearskin hats.
