During a recent appearance on a YouTube show, Stray Kids members, Bang Chan, Changbin and Han went viral on social networks for their honest reaction to an AI-generated song.
On August 5th, the boys appeared on the 26th episode of the variety show ‘Fake Kim Hyoyeon’ hosed by Hyoyeon from Girls’ Generation titled ‘Self-Composed Song Listening Session (Stray Kids)’ where they react to a new song by the artist.
While discussing the studio, the veteran idol asked their Stray Kids colleagues to listen to her new song, which attracted them at first because of its rhythm. However, the letter quickly caused confusion that was reflected in his strange facial expressions.
After the song ended, the boys began giving their opinions, stating that it was very catchy while seemingly searching for the right words so as not to hurt the idol’s feelings. Finally, Changbin asked her if she had actually written it, saying, “If it had been you, you probably would have written it better,” and that it seems artificial.
Bang Chan continue confessing that it sounds like AI generated with a frustated expressing, despite Hyoyeon insisting that it was written by her and occurred to her while dancing, she finally confessed that she had received help from Gemini.
When the idol asked if they should modify the lyrics, Han gently suggested, “How about we do a complete revamp?” demonstrating they are completely against AI-generated songs; they even said that if Gemini AI writes songs like that, they will cancel their subscription and switch to ChatGPT.
