SEVENTEEN’s DK, also known as Dokyeom, has officially begun his mandatory military service. Pledis Entertainment, the company behind the boy group, announced on September 8, 2026, that the singer entered a basic training camp before beginning his active duty service in the South Korean Army. DK is now the sixth member of the 13-member team to begin his enlistment.
Before starting his service, DK spent time saying goodbye to fans during a livestream on September 7, 2026. The artist shared photos and videos of his mandatory buzz cut online and chatted with viewers while listening to music on the broadcast. At one point during the stream, DK became emotional and apologized to fans for crying, saying he could not explain why he was feeling emotional at that moment.

“I turned on the livestream to tell you I’d serve well and come back, but I don’t know why I’m crying,” he said during the heartfelt interaction with fans.
DK officially enlisted on September 8, 2026, and is expected to be discharged on March 7, 2028. More SEVENTEEN members are also preparing to begin their military service. Mingyu is scheduled to start his mandatory duty as a social service agent on September 10. Seungkwan and Dino will follow on October 26, when they are expected to enlist in the Army military band.
