RIIZE’s member, Eunseok, is currently at the eye of the storm after the controversy over a racially insensitive expression. The idol is now under public scrutiny and has released a substantial statement to apologize for the ongoing controversy.

On May 6, Eunseok posted a lengthy message on the fan communication platform Bubble to address his inappropriate behaviour and mistake by asking for forgiveness to all those who were offended by his remarks.

The idol has apologized!

“While sharing a childhood photo of myself, I used an inappropriate expression. I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have felt uncomfortable due to my poor choice of words. Although I recognized the mistake and deleted the post immediately, I still feel deeply sorry. I will think more carefully before I speak and act. I sincerely apologize once again.”

The controversy became a major matter after Eunseok shared a childhood photo in celebration of Children’s Day. The idol used a term that has been criticized for being derogatory toward a specific racial group. Despite his quickly deleting the post, the damage was already done.
