The legal race between NewJeans and ADOR just hit its final wall. On September 11th, 2025, a second attempt at mediation between the parties lasted only 18 minutes before collapsing. This means NewJeans’ future now is in the hands of the court, with a definitive ruling set for October 30th, 2025.

The legal showdown between the girl group and another began in December 2024, when the agency sued to confirm the group’s contracts, demanding the members return after they decided to exit the company on their own. NewJeans says their trust was shattered when CEO Min Hee Jin and key staff left the agency, and they started being mistreated.

With settlements off the table and money on the line, both NewJeans and their former mentor are staring down make-or-break verdicts. For the time being, fans will be waiting for October 30th, crossing fingers for NewJeans to obtain a favorable outcome in this courtroom battle.
