On August 15th, the mother of ITZY‘s Chaeryeong and Lee Chaeyeon reveals she is going through a cancer battle, moving K-Pop fans worldwide.
In a heartbreaking Instagram post sharing images of her meals and family moments, Sunyoung referred to her daughters’ fans to share she was diagnosed with cancer and that she will be starting her treatment plan this month.
“I’m now officially recognised by the government as a cancer patient.
I’m going to the hospital next week, and we’ll see what kind of treatment I’ll be receiving…
In the meantime, I’ll make sure to take good care of my health and stamina. I’ll smile more and put on weight with a positive mindset 💪🏻.”
This sad news came just a few days after a moving video of Chaeryeong and her mum at ITZY’s fifth fan meeting, ALL IN, MIDZY, in Seoul went viral for showing them sharing a hug with tears in their eyes.
Now, fans understand their heartbreaking reaction; they saw each other at the event and have sent good wishes for their family, hoping that Chaeryeong and Lee Chaeyeon’s mother will have a full and swift recovery.
