The animated trio HUNTR/X from Netflix’s hit KPop Demon Hunters might soon make Grammy history. Their single “Golden” has become a global success, taking the top spot on multiple charts for weeks. Adding to their worldwide domination, the song could become the first K-pop hit to receive a Record of the Year nomination when the Grammy nods are announced on November 7, 2025.

If nominated, HUNTR/X from KPop Demon Hunters would also be only the second animated act ever to earn a nomination in that category. The first one was The Chipmunks in 1959 for “The Chipmunk Song,” which would go on to win best recording for children and best comedy performance. And while “Golden” is eyeing the Record of the Year nomination (one of the big 4 awards in the Grammys), the song is also entered for other categories, including Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Music Video.

“Golden” has certainly been receiving all the flowers, but it’s not the only song from the KPop Demon Hunters to climb the charts. Other tracks, such as “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol” by the antagonists of the film, Saja Boys, have also earned top 10 spots across different charts in the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. With traction like that, it’s clear that KPop Demon Hunters has made history as a film and a musical.
