KPop Demon Hunters is still one of Netflix’s biggest hits almost one year after its premiere. The streaming service recently revealed the list of its most-watched films of 2026, and the animated motion picture ranked among the top five with 130 million views during the first seven months of the year. The movie follows the fictional KPop girl group HUNTR/X, whose members balance their music careers with demon-hunting missions. Since its debut, the film has become one of Netflix’s most successful original movies and has continued to attract new viewers around the world.

Even though new movies performed well this year, only a few finished ahead of KPop Demon Hunters. Animated comedy Swapped recorded 130.8 million views, crime drama The Rip reached 136.1 million, and military thriller War Machine led the list with 146.9 million views. Other popular releases included Office Romance, People We Meet On Vacation, Apex, The Crash, and Thrash. However, the hit animated film is still generating massive numbers, making it to the top five of the most-watched movies this year with 130 million views. See the full top 10 below:

The soundtrack has also played a major role in the movie’s popularity. Its main song, “Golden,” earned two Academy Awards, one Grammy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards while reaching the top of the music charts in more than 30 countries. The movie’s continued success encouraged Netflix to give fans another round of theatrical screenings and a global live tour. The streaming company also unveiled that KPop Demon Hunters will join the Criterion Collection on December 31, allowing fans to own the film on Blu-ray, joining other popular animated films like Flow, Wall*E, and Wes Anderson’s The Fantastic Mr Fox.
