On May 13th, the Princess of Wales was welcomed at Reggio Emilia town square by the mayor, royal supporters, and children waiting to see her during her visit focused on investigations for early childhood education.
Kate Middleton stops alongside a group of kids to wave to them, showing off her Italian skills. “I speak a bit of Italian. What is your name? I am Catarina,” introducing herself as ‘Catarina,’ the Italian version of her real name, Catherine.
During her interactions with kids, she demonstrates how much she practices Italian, and even one of the kids, a girl named Alice, notices it and praises her, saying, “She asked my name in Italian. She spoke Italian very well.”
