It was recently reported that Johnny Depp might be willing to reprise his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film series. However, he allegedly has a condition to work with Disney again as the studio fired him due to the legal battle against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
According to an article published by People magazine, a close source to the controversial actor revealed that there are ongoing discussions regarding his potential return to the franchise. The last time Depp played Jack Sparrow was six years ago, in 2017, when the fifth entry ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ was released.
However, it looks like it won’t be as easy as it seems as the same source stated that Johnny Depp will only return under one condition: “Anything is possible. If it’s the right project, he’ll do it.” Although his fans are excited, neither the actor nor the studio have confirmed these reports so it is too early to make any assumptions.
After all the controversies, it appears that Johnny will take into consideration whether the project is appropriate before accepting Disney’s proposal, and even though it has not been confirmed that he will immediately return to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film series, several media outlets are confident he will play the legendary Jack Sparrow again sooner or later.
On top of that, The New York Times confirmed that Disney approached Johnny Depp with the intention of relaunching the franchise so it is up to the American actor to decide if he accepts their offer or not.
