IU donates $144,000 to four organizations ahead of her 18th debut anniversary

IU has become the talk of the town for all the right reasons after making a generous donation. The idol is once again showing their kindness to the Korean Welfare Services and has warmed the hearts of thousands of K-Netizens as she is also currently celebrating her 18th debut anniversary.

On September 18 KST, News1 reported that EDAM Entertainment said she gave $36,075 each to Korea Welfare Services, Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital, theHeart-to-Heart Foundation, and Habitat Korea.

The donations were made under the name IUaena, mixing IU’s name with her fan club, UAENA. This is not the first time that the singer has used the name for contributions marking her birthday, debut anniversary, and the end of the year, benefiting thousands of people in need.

The funds will help young adults prepare to live independently and cover rehabilitation treatment for children and adolescents. Other support has included education and psychological care and living expenses for young women leaving care, as well as housing improvements for people recognized for their service to the country.
